Exclusive Couples couples therapy · Hamburg

Our mission:
lasting change

We founded this practice because we were disappointed by conventional couples therapy — and learned the hard way what it means to invest serious time and money with barely any progress to show for it. We wanted to do it differently.

Our approach

What sets us apart from
conventional couples therapy.

Many couples — ourselves included — have been disappointed by conventional couples therapy. Not because couples therapy fundamentally does not work, but because the format, the depth or the systematic approach were missing. That is the difference we want to make.

Conventional therapy

  • One partner feels less heard or represented
  • Symptoms are treated, not the underlying causes
  • No measurable progress — you can't tell whether you're actually improving
  • No clear diagnosis — you don't know where you stand
  • No roadmap — sessions without a thread
  • After months no progress — you keep going in circles

Love Life Couples Therapy

  • In-depth diagnostics — structured couple assessment as the foundation of every therapy decision
  • Personalised roadmap with clear goals and regular progress measurement
  • Gottman Method — scientifically grounded in 40+ years of research
  • Co-therapy — a male and a female perspective
  • We are a couple ourselves — we know relationship crises from the inside, with five children
  • Sustainability — understand patterns, break them, change permanently · refund guarantee
Both of us in the room

How we complement each other.

We do not take turns — we are both there in every session. It costs more than the usual arrangement, and it is why we can see and name things that one person alone would miss.

Gwen brings

the clinical depth

A doctorate in psychology, a psychotherapist, a trained sex therapist. She works on what sits underneath the argument: attachment patterns, old injuries, closeness and sexuality. She asks the questions you do not ask yourself — and holds the room when the answer is uncomfortable.

Oli brings

the view from inside

Years in corporate life, leadership, business travel, children — and a relationship that came last. He knows the mechanics of exhaustion and avoidance from his own experience, and works with what follows from it: goals, structure, and the question of what will actually be different this week.

Why the mix works

Each of you has someone there

In couples therapy one partner often feels less understood — usually the one whose language is not spoken in the room. With us, each of you has someone who knows that perspective from the inside. It does not turn into taking sides: we work for the relationship, not for one half of it.

Four eyes see more

While one of us is in the conversation, the other is watching. Whoever is speaking cannot see what happens alongside — the brief glance, the pulling back, the sentence left unsaid. After every session we compare what we saw.

We do not always agree

And we show it. Couples watch two people think differently and stay connected anyway. That is hard to explain and easy to demonstrate — often it does more than any exercise.

Who it's for

For which couples is our couples therapy
the right path?

In a crisis

Couples at a crossroads

Standing between separation and a new beginning — looking for a well-founded, honest assessment.

Ready to invest

Couples who invest in results

Who understand: a good relationship is not a given. Ready to truly work for sustainable change.

Asymmetric

When one partner is sceptical

Where one person hesitates — because therapy hasn't delivered results before. Couples therapy is designed so both sides feel taken seriously.

Limited time

High performers with little time

Who need clear structures, measurable progress and a defined timeframe — not endless sessions without direction.

Experienced

Couples after previous therapy

Who know the feeling of going in circles — without real progress. Who want more structure, clarity and tangible change.

Deep patterns

With entrenched patterns

Who keep failing at the same points — even though both know better. Who want to understand what's really behind it.
